The Youth Centre committee is open to any youth centre member and meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 5-6pm to have some food and talk about new programs and ideas for the youth centre. For more information, talk to Paolo at the Youth Centre. 604-515-3801
New Westminster Youth Committee
Ages 13-24
The New Westminster Youth Committee is an opportunity for New Westminster youth and youth serving agencies to come to together to plan special events for youth and support youth initiatives in the City. The committee meets on the first Thursday of the month, 4:30pm at the Youth Centre. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact: Karen.Corcione@gov.bc.ca
New Westminster Music Scene
Ages 13-18
New Westminster Music Scene is a group of youth musicians that meet regularly to increase the opportunities for youth musicians to showcase their talents in New Westminster. New Westminster Youth Advisory Committee
Ages 13-21
*Must be a resident of New Westminster
The Youth Advisory Committee meets monthly to have some pizza and provide City Council with a youth perspective on issues such as community safety, health, recreation, employment and environment. This is a great way to get services hours, make a difference and gain experience for school and post secondary. Submit your application to any Parks, Culture and Recreation facility to get involved!
Past Youth Advisory Committees have
- been instrumental in the development of the Youth Centre
- worked with staff at the BEAT 94.5 to design and record a radio ad
- participated in the ‘Changing City, Changing Minds’ project
- support a walk/run to raise awareness of the sexual exploitation of youth
- provided feedback on Youth Services branding
