Drop-in Schedules

Hang out with youth your age! Our youth workers create opportunities for structured fun, competitions and prizes, or you can create your own fun! Each day has a different theme or different activites available. Some programs are for 13-18 only, others are 11-18.

Youth Membership:

Membership includes access to Neighbourhood and Youth Centre drop-in, and discounted prices on some programs and events. Purchase a membership at any New Westminster recreation facilityStaff will create a membership profile for you, take your picture and print a membership card. Learn more

Youth Drop-in (11 - 18 years) $1.00
Youth Fitness $2.00 (or $1.00 with membership)
Youth Basketball $2.00
Annual Youth Membership $21.50

What is Youth Drop-in?
Hang out with friends, play sports in the gym, help with cooking, challenge youth staff to a game, or create your own fun! Youth Services offers engaging programs, fosters positive relationships,
independence, and promotes healthy youth development.

 

Art Zone (13 - 18 years)
Explore different art styles and techniques each month. All materials are provided

Baking & Karaoke (13 - 18 years)
Combine creativity and fun in this exciting program where participants will bake delicious treats and enjoy the rewards of their hard work while singing along to their favorite songs.

Chill Vibes Music Lounge (11 - 18 years)
Discover new genres, enjoy curated playlists, and vibe with friends in a cozy atmosphere. Unwind and broaden your musical horizons.

City Squad Service Project (13 - 18 years)
Foster leadership skills and community engagement.
Participants select and execute their own impactful projects, driving positive change in the community.

Console Games & More (13 - 18 years)
Play on everything from Nintendo Switch to PS5. Challenge your friends, try new titles, and enjoy a fun, laid-back game time. All skill levels welcome.

Culinary Kitchen (13 - 18 years)
Learn simple cooking and baking techniques and recipes, and of course, eat what you create!

Dungeons & Dragons (11 - 18 years)
Embark on thrilling fantasy quests, solve clever puzzles, and battle monsters—no experience needed!

Leaders in Training (LIT) (11 - 18 years)
Meet new friends, plan events, and develop strong teamwork skills in this leadership program. Gain hands-on experience, develop confidence and practical skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Music Scene Jam Session (11 - 18 years)
Use our instruments, or bring your own, and learn some new tunes. All skill levels welcome.

Table Tennis Nights (13 - 18 years)
Serve up some fun whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, rally with friends, sharpen your skills, and enjoy friendly competition in a relaxed atmosphere. All equipment provided.

Youth Centre Fitness Centre (13 - 18 years)
Use the Fitness Centre after completing a quick orientation. Access fitness advisors for orientation, tips, and programs,

Youth DJ (11 - 18 years)
Mix and manipulate your favourite songs and get the party started. No experience is necessary. Stop by for lessons and take part in optional performance opportunities.


Youth Empowerment Group (11 - 13 years)
Build confidence and self-worth through creative self-care activities like affirmation art, vision boards, journaling, and mindfulness.

YC Fitness Centre (13 - 18 years)
Use the fitness centre after completing an orientation. Connect with fitness advisors for orientation, tips, and programs, Thursday, 3:00
- 5:30 pm.

 

Youth Sports Drop-in (13 - 18 years)
Looking for a place to play basketball, badminton or other sports? Drop-in for some friendly competition. ID required for entrance.

Middle School Specialty Samplers - Monday 3:15 - 5:15 pm (11 - 13 years)
Try something new at Middle School Drop-in. Not sure if you like baking or fashion? Ever wanted to try different art styles? Join us on Mondays at Drop-in!

Brilliant Brushwork (11 - 13 years)
Whether you’re a budding artist or wanting to explore your creative side, grab a canvas and get creating!

Crafty Creations (11 - 13 years)
Explore painting and paper projects to jewellery-making and DIY home décor. Each session encourages creativity, problem solving, and self-expression.

Creative Quests (11 - 13 years)
Experiment with materials, express creativity, and build confidence through art and imagination! Painting, DIY crafts and fun design challenges.

Jewellery Design (11 - 13 years)
Come and create your own wearable jewellery. Stand out in the crowd with something you made yourself!

Mini Art Studio (11 - 13 years)
Dive into a world of colour, texture, and design! Participants will experiment with different materials and techniques, learning fun new skills while creating unique projects.

Moves Monday (11 - 13 years)
Explore stress-relief activities such as guided relaxation, simple self-care creations, light fitness sessions, and mindfulness practices. Encourages healthy habits, positive thinking, and balance.

Sweet Treat Lab (11 - 13 years)
Decorate and design sweet treats using icing techniques, toppings, and fun themes. Try mini desserts, edible art and more.

Sugar Rush (11 - 13 years)
Weekly themed no-bake recipes that are easy, safe, and super tasty. Perfect for youth who want to try their hand at culinary creativity while sharing and enjoying their creations with friends.

Sports of All Sorts (11 - 13 years)
Play a variety of sports that build skills, boost confidence, and strengthen teamwork. Explore new activities and have fun at every ability level.

Program Descriptions

Youth Drop-in (11 - 18 years)
Bring your friends and come out to the Youth Centre, təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre or Queensborough Community Centre for sports, cooking, art, video games, music, and other activities. Hang out with Youth Services staff or
create your own fun. There will be opportunity for structured and unstructured fun, competition, and prizes!


Arcade Afternoon (11 - 18 years)
An afternoon of gaming, snacks, and fun! Whether you’re into Smash Bros., or old-school Pac Man, there’s always a controller waiting for you. No sign-up needed.

Bake Studio (11 - 18 years)
Mix, bake, and decorate delicious treats! Build confidence, practice safe cooking techniques, and enjoy the satisfaction of sharing homemade goodies with your friends in a fun, hands-on environment.
