Drop-In Schedules
Hang out with youth your age! Our youth workers create opportunities for structured fun, competitions and prizes, or you can create your own fun! Each day has a different theme.
Drop-in fee of $1.00 applies or use your New West Youth Membership Pass. Some programs are for 13-18 only, others are 11-18. Take a look at our seasonal schedules below.

Drop-in Descriptions
Youth Drop-in
Hang out with friends, play sports in the gym, help with cooking, challenge youth staff to a game, or create your own fun! Each day there may be structured activities too. Friday’s elevate drop-in with new experiences and events.
New West Youth Membership Pass (NWYMP): $21.00 for 12 months
Membership includes access to Neighbourhood/Middle School and Youth Centre Drop-in (during the school year), plus discounted prices on some programs and events. Purchase a membership at any New Westminster recreation facility.
Admission Fees:
Youth Drop-in (11 - 18 years): $1.00
Youth Fitness Centre (@New West Youth Centre): $2.00 (or $1.00 if you have a NWYMP)
Basketball (@ Queensborough Community Centre): $2.00

LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) (11- 18 years)
Meet new people, plan events, and build strong teamwork skills in a fun and exciting environment. Youth gain leadership experience through activities, speakers and hands-on experience.
YC FITNESS CENTRE (13 - 18 years)
Use the fitness centre after completing a quick orientation. Access fitness advisors for orientation, tips, and programs, Thursday, 3:00 - 5:30 pm. Only 4 allowed in the space at one time.
YOUTH DJ PROGRAM (13 - 18 years)
Learn DJ skills from Royal City Sound DJ Specialist. There are opportunities to perform at local events, but if performing is not your thing stop by for the lesson. No experience is necessary for either.
MUSIC SCENE JAM SESSION (13 - 18 years)
Use our instruments, or bring your own, and play some awesome tunes. All skill levels welcome.
BASKETBALL DROP-IN (13 - 18 years)
Looking for a place to play basketball with your buddies? Drop in for some friendly competition. ID required for entrance. Wristbands must be worn.
YOUTH CULINARY KITCHEN (13 - 18 years)
Learn some simple cooking techniques and recipes, and of course, eat what you create!
ART ATTACK (13 - 18 years)
Join us in the Youth Centre art nook for creativity and expression. Different art styles will rotate each month, but this fall we will be focusing on a mural project that will be in the Youth Centre for years to come.
CITY SQUAD SERVICES PROJECT (13 - 18 years)
This program fosters leadership skills while encouraging community engagement. Participants select and execute their own impactful projects, driving positive change in their communities
PROUD PLACE (13 - 18 years)
Empowering 2SLGBTQI+ youth through support, advocacy, and community. Our inclusive group provides a safe space for self-expression, fostering connections, and promoting acceptance.
VOICES OF INDIA (11 - 16 years)
Empowering South Asian girls to explore their heritage and share experiences. A safe and inclusive space, fostering dialogue, friendships, and learning. Connect, celebrate diversity, and discuss various topics, from traditions to contemporary issues.
BADMINTON (13 - 18 years)
Badminton has picked up the pace at the Youth Centre. Come out for fun play and competitive tournaments. We only have a few rackets do bring your own if you have one.

Meet new people, plan events and build strong teamwork skills in a fun and exciting environment. Gain leadership experience through activities, speakers and hands-on activity.
Music Scene Jam Session (13 - 18 years)
Learn to play some awesome tunes! All skill levels welcome. Bring your own instruments or use ours.
Royal City Sound DJ Program (13 - 18 years)
Our DJ program teaches youth how to DJ while providing opportunities to perform at local events. No experience is necessary and we’ll work with you to help find your sound!
Youth Culinary Kitchen (13 - 18 years)
Learn some simple cooking techniques and recipes, and of

Badminton (13 - 18 years)

Not your everyday drop-in. Fridays are something new and
exciting every week. Have an idea? Let us know so we

Futsal (13 - 18 years)
If you like soccer you will love Futsal. Similar to the traditional game but with a smaller heavier ball and a smaller indoor court. It’s a little bit more intense and high pace, making it easier to score!
